Auto Accident Injuries
Automobiles do not need to be traveling at high speeds to cause injury in an accident. The video below demonstrates the effects of a collision between two automobiles traveling at 20 mph. Even collisions at 5 mph can cause spinal injury that, if left untreated, may cause lifelong problems.
The biggest danger with whiplash injuries is that the symptoms can take years to develop. Too often people don’t seek treatment until more serious complications develop. Even after whiplash victims settle their insurance claims, some 45% report they still suffer with symptoms two years later. The British Journal of Orthopaedic Medicine(1999) 22(1):22-25 reported that “chiropractic is the only proven effective treatment in chronic cases” of whiplash injury. The study was prompted by a previous article in the journal Injury which demonstrated that chiropractic treatment had benefited 26 out of 28 patients suffering from chronic whiplash syndrome.
Dr. Meylor has had advanced training, specific to the causation, effects and treatment of whiplash and other injuries; spinal and extremity related. He trained under one of the worlds leading experts on auto injury and biomechanics of whiplash. Accident causing minimal discomfort at minimal speed can still have long term effects on the body.
